Welcome back to the Umeeverse! Some big announcements have been made and we’ve been busy working behind the scenes as we near our launch. That said, enjoy Umeeverse Newsletter #4 as we’re excited to catch you up on what’s been going on!
Our community has been waiting for this announcement and we’re glad we can finally say we have announced our Coinlist token sale! Let’s break down some of the details:
- The sale begins on December 1, 17:00 UTC, and has two public options.
- To register for the sale, go here. Registration ends on Nov 28 at 23:59 UTC.
- Option 1: $0.06 per token (10-month vesting starting mid-Feb)
- Option 2: $0.07 (8-month vesting starting mid-Feb)
- For any questions regarding the token sale, refer to this FAQ on Umee token and FAQ page on Coinlist processes
- Keep in mind that the sale is not available for residents and citizens of the United States, China, Canada, Australia, and certain jurisdictions.
- For more details, read the full announcement blog here
- We have also set up a #coinlist-sale-faq channel in our discord to address questions regarding the sale even more in-depth.
Now that the token sale has been announced, the next step is community building! Can’t wait for everyone to be part of the wave.
With the announcement of the Coinlist sale, we know that our ever-growing community shares the same vision as us for an interoperable DeFi world and would like to participate in any way they can. So, we’ve addressed that by announcing our Umeeverse Genesis Launch program! Here are some quick bits from the blog:
- As a member of the Umee community, you are encouraged to create educational content and/or translations, enhance the social media presence for Umee, contribute to the technical discussion and development of Umee, become an Umeevenger validator, and be helpful to each other in the Umee ecosystem!
- As community members, you do not need to accomplish all aforementioned tasks, but to participate in the genesis launch, you are required to follow @Umee_CrossChain on Twitter, retweet this tweet, like this tweet join the Umee Discord, join the Umee Telegram, make a meaningful contribution and submit the link.
- You can use this form to submit your participation and verify task completion.
- Examples of meaningful contributions and more details can be found in the full blog!
- The Umeeverse Genesis Launch community program will run from November 20th, 2021 to November 27th, 2021.
We’re excited for all existing and new Umee community members to contribute! Look out for further updates!
Now that the token sale has been announced and the Umeeverse is launched, we can’t wait for everyone to start using Umee!
Alphamainnet and Betanets
- This past week, we released an alphamainnet that precludes our future mainnet architecture design.
- We restarted the betanet, our public testnet for the public to participate
- For the community members that have volunteered to participate, we appreciate you running nodes. Due to your support, we’ve been able to find and fix various issues. That’s what community is all about! Keep up the great work and let’s keep making Umee stronger and faster.
Umeevengers Competition Phase 1
- We have wrapped up week 4 of the Umeevengers testnet phase I, now onto week 5!
- With only a week left of this incentivized testnet, we couldn’t be happier with the passion and dedication our validators have exhibited throughout this event. Thank you for not only making the Umee network stronger, but the Umee community as well.
Umeevengers Competition Phase 2
- We want to call for all Umeevengers to get ready for Phase 2 adversarial testnet in the coming weeks!
- Similar to Phase 1, we will open it up for the public to apply and participate. The goal will be for Umee to recruit the best validators to help us exploit and stress test our Umee architecture. The network is a brand new design that allows a base layer blockchain to seamlessly integrate with other blockchains and we would like to invite the best hackers and validators around the world to test out the Umee blockchain!
- We’ve made strides on the functionality of the Gravity Bridge on the Umee network!
- It is running smoothly as we continue to improve and add tasks to the Peggy module that is attached to the Gravity Bridge. We can’t wait for everyone to experience it!
- Our product team is putting the final touches on the Umee UI!
- We know how excited everyone is to borrow and lend with our platform and that will soon be a reality! Look for a release date in the coming weeks.
- We understand that topics surrounding crypto can be difficult to digest when you’re first learning about them. So, we figured we’d offer some help!
- We’re rolling out a new blog series called ELIN (Explain Like I’m New) where we do deep dives on topics such as this most recent one — lending and borrowing in DeFi — to help dispel any misconceptions or difficulties that people may have on said topic.
- If you have any topics you would like to see covered in this blog series, let us know in the #Suggestions channel on our Discord!
- We are actively hiring front-end engineers, devrels, dev ops, technical writers, DeFi analysts, community moderators, and many more. If interested, write to us through hr@umee.cc.
- With so much going on in the Umeeverse, we feel that it’s time to launch ANOTHER community event!
- We’ll announce more details this week, so keep an eye out and we can’t wait for everyone to participate!
- As we’re getting more and more eyes on Umee, we’ve updated the documentation section of our website!
- If you need any official Umee information, that is the place to go to.
- We’re happy to see that our Reddit community is growing! Make sure you subscribe to the Umee subreddit today!
- We are in full swing with our Weekly Discussion series on our subreddit. Discussion threads are released Wednesday mornings. Go here for this week’s thread and make sure you ask any questions you may have on Umee!
- This past week we were happy to distribute OG roles on Discord to acknowledge early active community members.
- OGs are early community members who:
- Participate(d) in a betanet or testnet
- Contribute(d) impactful content or translations
- Contribute to constructive conversations across Umee’s community channels
- Although we are no longer providing them, we’re proud to have a collective of passionate Umee members to lead the way!
- With so much happening in the Umeeverse, we’re always looking for community members to contribute. Whatever your strong suit is — content creation, translation, answering FAQs, etc. — we want to hear from you!
- Make sure you go to the #Things-I-Can-Do Discord channel and let us know how you’d like to help Umee.
